Odrzywol Commune is situated by two rivers: Drzewiczka and Pilica, in northern part of przysuski administrative district and in south-west part of mazovian provinces. Seat of Odrzywol Commune is localised at a distance of 45 kilometres westward from Radom. Pilica river constitutes its northern natural border with Nowe Miasto. Through the territory of Odrzywol Commune swims small Karczniczka river that comes to Drzewiczka river in Odrzywol. In western part of commune there are big Spalskie and Opoczynskie forests.

At the end of 2006 population of the commune was estimated at 4334, 49 % of that were women. The table 1 shows how this population has changed over last five years.
Density of the population amounts to 44 people per square.
There are 2435 inhabitants at the productive age in the commune, what presents 56 % of the whole population.
There are also 836 inhabitants (267 man and 569 women) after productive age, what presents 19% of the whole population.
If it comes to the number of young people that are obliged to continue education up to the age of 18 - there are 3456 such people
Characteristic feature but at the same time a disadvantage here is a big quota of people with basic
education and low quota of people with higher education. However, there is one comforting
fact - all year round we can observe the increase of ambitions among young people, which is
connected with the growth of the number of people with higher education
In 2006 unemployment rate in Odrzywol Commune totaled 26,4%. It was approximated to the unemployment rate in przysuski administrative district, where it was estimated at 26,10%.
From year to year level of unemployment in the commune has been diminishing. Last data from January 2007 show that this trend is still maintained. Alike the number of jobless women, which diminishes from year to year.
The most numerous group among unemployed people are inhabitants with basic and professional education. This group includes 341 people, which represents 72% of the whole number of unemployed. Nobody should be surprised by the fact, that the smallest group among unemployed are people with higher education. Nowadays education determine people's opportunities to find a job.
Unfortunately the structure of unemployment in the commune shows that the most numerous group are people at productive (mobile) age. These are people at the age between 18 and 44, and they represent 73% of the whole unemployed.
If we take into account road infrastructure, the biggest meaning for the commune has national road number 48 that connects three big cities of the region: Lodz, Tomaszow Mazowiecki and Radom. 12 km of this road runs through Odrzywol Commune. Another important road is provincial road number 728 (it connects Konskie and Warsaw) - 8,3 km of this road runs through Odrzywol Commune.
Odrzywol Commune is connected inside as well as with neighbouring communes, administrative districts and provinces by the network of district and local roads, which constitutes the supplement to the whole communication system.
National road number 48 - it runs from international route E67 from Tomaszow Mazowiecki towards polish eastern border. The road runs through three provinces. It is an important connection for southern parts of Mazowsze and western parts of Lubelszczyzna, as it connects (also through other roads) Lodz with Lublin without need of crossing Radom and Warsaw, what considerably speeds up the course of route.
Provincial road number 728 - it runs through provinces: mazowieckie, lodzkie and swietokrzyskie. Its length is 158 km. The road connects Grojec with the route DK7 in Jedrzejow. It runs through six administrative districts: grojecki, opoczynski, przysuski, konecki, kielecki and jedrzejowski. It runs through the territory of the commune in the length of 9 km.
Local roads
The total length of local roads amounts to 47,42 km. These are mainly gravel and ground roads.
Transit movement crosses mainly on the route from Radom to Tomaszow mazowiecki and from Grojec to Konskie.
Public communication
Commune's inhabitants can use public busses, which unfortunately do not reach to all resorts. Public communication does not serve following resorts: Wandzinow, Stanislawow, Rozanna, Dabrowa, Myslakowice, Myslakowice Kolonia, Legonice Male, Jelonek, Janowek, Debowa Gora, Kolonia Klonna and Walerianow. Private carriers and buses offering personal transportation are an alternative for inhabitants. Three firms has got permittion for this type of activity in the area.
